The Community Art Space at Anvil Centre is currently accepting group proposals for its 2019 exhibition schedule. The Community Art Space forges creative dialogue, brings attention to local art as well as creates new opportunities for artists in our community. It is open to New Westminster emerging and established artists who reside or have a studio practice in the City and work in two dimensional media.
We invite groups of three or more local artists to submit an exhibition proposal. The exhibitions are two months in duration. There are opportunities for outreach programs such as artist talks or workshops during the exhibition period. Selected artists may use the Anvil Centre studios for creation of work, facilitating workshops or artist talks. The proposals will be adjudicated by a peer jury.
The proposed exhibition submission must not have been showcased in New Westminster in the preceding 12 months, nor (upon acceptance) be displayed in any other New Westminster gallery during the exhibiting year.
Please submit by email:
- Names and contact information for all artists (please identify a main contact)
- 1-5 JPEG or PDF images of proposed artworks by each artist
- List of artworks identifying the artist names, title and size
- Exhibition statement
- Current CV for each artist
