About Jaimie:

Jaimie McEvoy attended the Douglas College Creative Writing Program as a student. He is a published author of a local history, The Life and Destruction of Saint Mary’s Hospital, and several articles on heritage. He is also a poet.

Councillor Jaimie McEvoy was elected on November 15, 2008 and is currently serving his fifth term on Council. A New Westminster resident for over 30 years, Jaimie has been actively involved with local issues such as homelessness, poverty, crime and affordable housing. Jaimie has chaired the Affordable Housing and Child Care Advisory Committee and Task Force on Housing and Child Care. He has also been Co-chair of the Master Transportation Plan Advisory Committee, and Council representative to the Fraser Health Authority: Municipal Government Advisory Council. He is a past president of the Brow of the Hill Residents’ Association, the Twelfth Street Neighbourhood Society, and a past director for the Royal City Humane Society and the New Westminster Heritage Preservation Society. Jaimie served as the Director of the Hospitality Project at the New Westminster Food Bank, Shiloh-Sixth Avenue United Church.

Jaimie lives in New Westminster with his partner, and his cats, Buddy and Odin.

About Therese:

Therese Mah is a landscape painter based in New Westminster. Working with watercolour, gouache and oil paint, she is inspired by vibrant urban lanscapes where the built environment meets the natural world. During the warm season she enjoys painting outdoors ‘en plein air’. She works as a User Experience specialist, and paints in her spare time.
