Anvil Centre is home to vibrant community and international programs, including dance, music, theatrical performances, arts and crafts programs for all ages, artist’s talks, film screenings, gallery tours and openings, and cultural festivals.

Anvil Centre is a vibrant gathering space and boutique conference centre conveniently located in the heart of the City of New Westminster. This community destination hosts a wide range of events, arts and cultural activities and programs.

Theatre: Take the Stage

This drama class will open your eyes to character and script work, strengthen ensemble building and help you find your confidence onstage. learn to create a character from scratch and explore a story from your own imagination while deepening your fundamental skills of drama. YogaLates

Combine core strengthening and toning of Pilates with yoga poses to open the mind and the body. A great accompaniment to Yoga Basic Back Care. Take your core strengthening a little further, while still moving at your own pace. Move mindfully! Beginners welcome. Please bring your own yoga mat.

Art n’ Story Making

Join us in this fun and creative art class where students will use their imagination to create their own unique characters and stories. Using pencils, markers, paint and 3-D materials, we will bring our characters to life through visual storytelling and dynamic art projects. All supplies included.

Storytelling Walk: Homelessness and New Westminster

(14+)

Walk with Museum staff and the New Westminster Homelessness Coalition Society to learn about homelessness in our community from a historical perspective. Engage with important sites and stories, including the voices of those with lived experience. The current work of the NWHCS and supportive housing will also be discussed. Presented as part of the official kick off to Homelessness Action Week in New Westminster.

Anvil Centre’s cultural studios are top-of-the-line professional studio spaces that offer quality settings for visual, performing, applied, sound and new media arts.

They are available for workshops, lectures, screenings and rehearsals.

Anvil Centre also offers a professionally outfitted, acoustically insulated music practice room. All cultural studios and the music practice room can be rented at affordable prices.
