Anvil Centre is home to vibrant community and international programs, including dance, music, theatrical performances, arts and crafts programs for all ages, artist’s talks, film screenings, gallery tours and openings, and cultural festivals.

Anvil Centre is a vibrant gathering space and boutique conference centre conveniently located in the heart of the City of New Westminster. This community destination hosts a wide range of events, arts and cultural activities and programs.

Begin with a Baby Yoga Flow that supports your baby's developing systems and move into a Parent's Yoga Flow which opens areas of the body that often experience repetitive strain while caring for an infant. Each class includes pranayama and core strengthening sequences. Please bring a yoga mat and blanket.

YogaLates

(16+)

This class combines core strengthening and toning of Pilates, with yoga poses to open the mind and the body. A great accompaniment to Yoga Basic Back Care, take your core strengthening a little further, while still moving at your own pace. Come and explore the similarities and the differences of Pilates and yoga and how they can benefit you. Move mindfully! Beginners welcome. Please bring your own yoga mat.

Draw, Paint, Create!

(5 to 8y 11mos)

Young artists learn new techniques with a variety of 2-dimensional media including acrylic and watercolour paint, pencil, charcoal, pastels and more. Students enjoy opportunities to imagine and think creatively and while gaining new artistic skills and confidence. All supplies included.

3D Printed Sound Makers Jr.

(6 to 8)

A super-creative program that explores music & sound, and teaches children how to create 3-D Printed renderings on the computer using the program, Tinkercad. Once students have created their object, we’ll print them off in our Learning Lab. We’ll schedule a day for you to pick-up your objects along with a Kit of materials and supplies (everyone gets a 3D print, but extra materials are purchased in kit). Then it’s time to construct everything into amazing, moveable, wearable soft sound-makers! Along the way you’ll receive our Instructional Videos that complement our ZOOM classes. We might even have a Virtual performance!

Anvil Centre’s cultural studios are top-of-the-line professional studio spaces that offer quality settings for visual, performing, applied, sound and new media arts.

They are available for workshops, lectures, screenings and rehearsals.

Anvil Centre also offers a professionally outfitted, acoustically insulated music practice room. All cultural studios and the music practice room can be rented at affordable prices.
