LarbitsSisters

New Media Gallery Artist Talk

Jacobs and Laure-Anne Jacobs

Brussels-based duo Bénédicte Jacobs and Laure-Anne Jacobs explore the impact of technology: the intersections between art, technology, social issues, projects of traceability and how data is treated, network analysis, algorithms, automation and interactivity. In 2011 they co-founded the digital media platform Larbitslab an interdisciplinary creative research group on digital visualization, located in Brussels. Bénédicte is a researcher in Social Media at the Free University of Brussels. Together they formed the duo called LarbitsSisters. They have exhibited throughout Europe and in China. This is the first presentation of their work in North America. They are recipients of the Golden Nica award, 2018, at Prix Ars Electronica in the category of Interactive Art and the NOVA New Media Interactive Prize, 2018.
