About the project:
The City of New Westminster is undertaking an update to its Arts Strategy to ensure it reflects current conditions, community priorities, and the evolving role of the City within the local arts ecosystem. Building on the previous strategy, the update is reviewing what continues to work, acknowledging where challenges remain, and addressing changes across the arts, culture, and creative sectors since the last plan.
The project includes broad and inclusive engagement with artists, arts organizations, community members, equity‑deserving groups, and key partners, with a focus on understanding current needs, pressures, and opportunities. The outcome will be a refreshed Arts Strategy that sets clear priorities, strategic directions, and a practical plan to guide future investment, partnerships, programs, and decision‑making for arts and culture in New Westminster.
